Practical HR Strategies is an HR Consultancy working with small to medium businesses to ensure your business stays compliant with relevant employment and health and safety laws. We can do this by providing expert assistance in a number of areas and we will provide simple and honest advice. This will leave you with more time to focus on developing your staff to grow your business. Rather than having the expense of a full-time salary, you only pay for HR services when you need them.

Experience and Qualifications

I’m an accomplished HR Professional with a Masters Degree in HR Management, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Leadership and a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and over 25 years Human Resources, Recruiting and Learning and Development experience. I work and live in Western Australia and I have worked in small and large businesses across many sectors in both Tasmania and Western Australia, including Local and State Government in both WA and Tasmania, Commonwealth Government, disability and environment organisations within the not for profit sector and in both generalist HR roles and specialist roles including recruitment and diversity and inclusion.

I have also provided training on job-ready skills for numerous people in WA and Tasmania.

Why a Lighthouse Logo?

Since having an opportunity to live next to, and be a volunteer caretaker at, Cape Bruny lighthouse in Tasmania in 2014, I’ve become a little obsessed with lighthouses.  I’ve even had my lighthouse photo on the cover of a calendar.

A lighthouse can represent danger, risk, adversity and challenge but it can also offer guidance, shelter and safe passage so what better symbol to have as a logo!
